Selamat Tinggal

Selamat tinggal daerah beriman dan budiman. Aku titipkan sajak penulis agung sebagai ganti genta hatiku...

KITA INI TETAMU SENJA
( Puisi A. Samad Said - 1955)

The Confession

Yes I'm glued to Grisham's work again, but obsession is far from true. This time the author brought us to 1998, in the small East Texas city of Sloan, where Travis Boyette abducted, raped and strangled a popular high school cheerleader. He buried her body so that it would never be found, then watched in amazement as police and prosecutors arrested and convicted Donte` Drumm, a local football star, and marched him off to death row.

Now nine years have passed.Travis has just been paroled in Kansas for a different crime; Donte` is four days away from his execution. Travis suffers from an inoperable brain tumor. For the first time in his miserable life, he do what's right and confess. But how can a guilty man convince lawyers, judges, and politicians that they're about to execute an innocent man?

Well, here where Keith character comes in. A pastor, Lutheran minister who happen so compelled to safe Donte's life by assisting Boyette to tell the defence lawyer the whole truth. But they just 24 hours late. It's too late to convince the judge, its too late to stop the execution. And Donte's death is not the end of the story. Its create racial tension to Sloan, especially when Nicole Yarber, the victim's body finally found.

This novel had actually different from Grisham's other works especially n term of pace, it is fast, actually too fast at some point. Its packed with tension until you'll be consumed. God, it's a real masterpiece I must say.
